Edward Elmhurst Health and the Oswego Chamber of Commerce invite you to run with us in the 11th Annual FraidyCat 5k, Ghost Run 8k and Meow Mile in Oswego. This scenic USATF-IL-certified course takes you along the streets and bike paths between Plainfield & Grove Rds. Water and split times will be available.
AGAIN THIS YEAR – The 5k & 8K are USATF-IL certified courses and the start/finish line will be right in front of the school.

Any changes to packet pick-up times will be announced closer to the event date and posted to our Facebook page.
Meow Mile—Trophies will be presented to the top male and female finishers. All participants will receive a FraidyCat Ribbon and awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group.
FraidyCat 5K—Trophies will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers. Age group awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Awards presentation will begin at approximately 10:45 a.m. All runners for the 5k and 8k will receive finisher medals
Ghost Run 8K—Trophies will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female finishers whose second 5K split is closest to their first 5K split. Age group awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Awards presentation will begin at approximately 10:45 a.m. All runners for the 5k and 8k will receive finisher medals
In 2023, proceeds from the Healthy Driven FraidyCat race series will benefit Scholarships to graduating seniors at Oswego & Oswego East High school who ‘give back’ through volunteer service.
The Healthy Driven FraidyCat 5K, 8K Ghost Run and Meow Mile will take place rain or shine. If cancellation of the event is warranted due to dangerous weather conditions, announcements will be made race day at the race site and on the FraidyCat Facebook page. The event will not be canceled in advance. All decisions regarding cancellation will be made on site, race day.
Baby joggers or strollers are allowed in the Races – Please start at the back of the race. Bikes, skates of any kind, scooters, skateboards and dogs are prohibited. Please use caution and watch for moving vehicles. This race is not on a closed course but is mostly run on the bike paths and trails. Team Triumph Teams are welcomed and encouraged in the race!
The Healthy Drive FraidyCat 5K is limited to a maximum of 1,000 entrants. Registration for the event will close once the limit has been reached. Race week or race day registration may not be available.
Limited parking is available at Prairie Point School and Prairie Point Park. On street parking is only allowed on streets NOT being used for the run course. Check the race website and your race packet for final details. Watch our Facebook page and emails for parking instructions.
The 5K, 8K & Meow Mile races are chip-timed at the start and finish. The Meow Mile will start promptly at 9 a.m. in front of Prairie Point School (the side closest to Bickford Assisted Living, 3650 Grove Rd, Oswego, Illinois and the FraidyCat 5K and Ghost Run 8K first wave will start at approximately 9:15/9:30 a.m. There will be rolling starts of 50 runners at a time. The course will close at 11:30 a.m. The start/finish lines have been moved and the route is re-certified so it is in front of the school.
